Targeted Instructions

Custom Operation:

When the fog lights are on, the SSR detects the message from the OEM Tesla Model 3 Vehicle CAN Bus, and the SSR activates its output.

The device must be connected to the car's Vehicle CAN bus to function.

CAN Wiring Connections:

The easiest access point is at the AC compressor. Make sure you fully power down the vehicle, then cut the CAN HI and CAN LO wires, and tap in CAN using DTM connectors, or other reliable, weatherproof connections.

WARNING: A poor CAN connection can compromise the vehicle operation and result in you being stranded if the vehicle fails due to a CAN bus fault!

Power Supply Connections:

Connect the SSR power input directly to the 12V battery. See the pin connections above. Make sure the ground is good. A ground disconnection can cause device failure if the device is in use. 

 

Output Power Connections:

Connect the SSR's output power (Pin 2) to your desired load (light module). Make sure your lights are always grounded - the ground connection from the light, and from the module must never be disconnected while the device is in operation.
